About

Just a few things about myself…

For six years, I taught English at a high school in New Jersey.  (Most of my career was focused on the Junior classes and American Literature.)  While I made the decision to leave teaching last summer, I continue to feel connected to the profession and I hope to return to teaching, in some form, in the future.  Time will tell.

Currently, I’m focusing on different elements of instructional design work and developing interactive courseware.  The professional transition has been both smooth and challenging for me, and I’m thrilled with the learning opportunities that my new position has granted me.  I love what I’m learning to do.

In the fall I’ll be starting my thesis here at Rowan, in which I intend to explore learning theories from both of my backgrounds in instructor-led and computer-based training.  This blog, combined with other work from Writing for Electronic Communities, will serve as a basis of research.

On a more personal level, I have both a husband and a dachshund who are the loves of my life :)   along with a twin sister who is half way around the world.  In this blog’s pages, I’ll be developing focuses on dachshunds (weinies on the web) and twins.

I will also admit that, despite the experience I continue to gain in technology,  blogging is a new experience for me.  I’m a relatively private person, and admittingly leery of information tranferred through sites such as blogs.  (I hope no one takes offense to that.)  I feel challenged, but ready to explore.
